Upload a photo of your space, paint the surface, and visualize GroundVex EPDM granule colors in real time.
Step 1 — Pick your environment
What are you designing today?
Choose a project type to preload the recommended EPDM palette and spec. Then upload a photo of your space to start painting.

Drop a photo of your space
Upload a picture from your computer or snap one on your phone. You'll paint the surface area, then preview real GroundVex EPDM colors.
Beyond the canvas
Understand what you're designing.
The Studio is a preview tool. Here's the material science, spec language, and process behind every GroundVex surface — so your concept translates cleanly into a real install.
What you're actually painting with
The rubber granule you're painting with.
EPDM (ethylene propylene diene monomer) is a synthetic rubber engineered for outdoor life: UV-stable, ozone-resistant, and colorfast for decades. GroundVex mills virgin EPDM into 12 signature granule colors and binds them with polyurethane on site — the finished surface is seamless, porous, and shock-absorbing.

What's under the surface
A GroundVex install, layer by layer.
Optional UV top seal
Aliphatic clear coat for UV-stable color retention on rooftops and high-sun installs.
EPDM wear course
Colored EPDM granules bound with aromatic or aliphatic PU. The visible, walkable surface.
SBR cushion layer
Black rubber granules bound with polyurethane. Absorbs impact and sets the fall-height rating.
Compacted sub-base
Load distribution & drainage — crushed stone or concrete pad.
Aromatic or aliphatic — pick wrong and it costs you
Aromatic vs aliphatic polyurethane.
The binder is the glue holding the EPDM granules together. Same granules, different chemistry — the choice sets your color longevity and cost.

Aromatic
MDI-based single-component polyurethane
Aliphatic

Same rubber, different feel
Size changes how a surface feels.
0.5 – 1.5 mm
Fine
Splash pads, spray parks, wet-play surrounds.
Dense, smooth-to-touch. Barefoot friendly.
1 – 4 mm
Medium (standard)
Playgrounds, fitness zones, rooftop decks.
Balanced grip and comfort. The default blend.
2 – 6 mm
Coarse
Running tracks, sport courts, equestrian.
Higher friction and rebound.
Custom blend
Signature blend
Brand color inlays, logos, custom patterns.
Mix any of the 12 EPDM colors by weight ratio.
Thickness × fall height
How thick does your surface need to be?
Critical fall-height ratings per EN 1177 for standard GroundVex builds. Your final spec depends on equipment height and site conditions.

< 0.6 m
Walkways, splash pads, rooftop decks
25 mm
≤ 1.0 m
Toddler play areas, low equipment
40 mm
≤ 1.5 m
Standard playgrounds, fitness zones
55 mm
≤ 2.0 m
Mid-height climbers, slides

Concept → install
From a painted photo to a poured surface.
- 1
Design in the Studio
Upload a photo, paint the surface, choose EPDM colors and a logo. Export a watermarked concept to share with stakeholders.
- 2
Spec & quote
Our team translates your concept into a granule recipe, binder choice, and thickness spec matched to EN 1177 fall-height needs.
- 3
Site preparation
Certified installers verify the sub-base — compacted stone or concrete — and set edge restraints and drainage.
- 4
Mix & pour
SBR cushion is poured and leveled, then the colored EPDM wear course is trowel-finished on top the same day.
- 5
Cure & hand-off
Surface is walkable at 24 hours, fully cured and open to play at 72 hours. Care guide and warranty follow.
